FALL: Fudge, Photography, Granddog!

Blog2pic_fallmusings

This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it. -Psalm 118:24 (NKJV)

Fall is my favorite season! I’m originally from Michigan, so I welcome the cooler weather. I love the crisp air, colorful leaves, comfort foods, and the opportunity to curl up and create.

FUDGE
Fall makes it easy to justify baking (and consuming) super calorie-laden comfort foods!
Here’s one of my favorite (CHOCOLATE-COMFORT) easy recipes:

CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER FUDGE
-1 cup granulated sugar -Dash of salt -1 tablespoon butter
-1 cup brown sugar -1 cup marshmallow cream -1 teaspoon vanilla
-1/2 cup evaporated milk -3/4 cup peanut butter -1/4 cup chocolate chips

1. Stir sugars, milk, and salt together in saucepan. Bring to boiling, and boil
5 minutes, stirring constantly.
2. Stir in marshmallow cream, peanut butter, butter, and vanilla. Add chocolate
chips and stir. Pour into 9×9-inch buttered pan. Cool and cut into squares.

I ate about half the pan of fudge, it was soooo good.

PHOTOGRAPHY
After all that fudge, I could hardly move, but I had to work on re-taking product pics for the website. I bought a portable photo studio, and tried taking pics on my own, but that was rather disastrous. So, I teamed up with Kaitlin Donelon who is a super creative person with a really great camera. She’s taking great pics and making all of the products pop! Thanks Kaitlin, I love you.

GRANDDOG
My daughter, Lauren, was born in the Fall…yet another reason to love the season. She lives in Nashville, but decided to come to Chicago this weekend to celebrate her birthday. She brought her dog, Greyson, and I was the designated weekend-dog-sitter. So, I put him to work guarding a box of canvases while I worked on creating WordPearls™. Hey, it’s a family business…everyone works! Love my Granddogs! Oh, and I love my Children too!

What’s your favorite season? Hope you try the fudge recipe…let me know how you like it.

Until next time…
Deb
